Repubblica Square in Cortona is an open space in a city that is
otherwise filled with narrow lanes, steep stairs and a medieval
atmosphere. Francis Mayes work "Under the Tuscan Sun"
described renovating a local house, which pleased the town's tourism
industry to no end!

Every village in Tuscany offers some small, unexpected delight.
Here, in Cortona, we see a copper dome adorning the ubiquitous
red-tiled roof. Alleys, stair cases, narrow lanes and a dash
of unique architecture combine to make each city one that is filled
with unique treats.
