France: Best Places to Visit
Normandy - Bayeux, Rouen

Bayeux
The first town liberated in WWII is a good place to base a tour of Normandy and sites related to the Normandy Invasion of World War II.

Be sure to see the thousand year old Bayeux Tapestry. The Tapestry is over two hundred feet long and consists of  embroidered scenes created to commemorate the victory by William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame is another of the city's highlights.  It was originally constructed in the eleventh century and has a delightful architecture.  If you have time to tour the church, be sure to visit its crypt.
