Ireland is a country whose beautiful and, sometimes, moody landscapes
are the main attraction for visitors. Its cities, towns, and villages
bear names familiar to most travelers, even if they have never visited
Ireland. The Emerald Isles' towns are good places to visit, great places
to catch a meal, and fun places to drink and carouse with the locals.
With the exception of Dublin, Ireland's towns are not particularly
notable: most lack significant museums or galleries and offer little in
the way of interesting architecture. Of course, none of this has anything to do
with the size of the tourist trade. Tourists visit Ireland to enjoy the
Irish people and to experience the beauty of the countryside. Our list
of tourist destinations in Ireland is focused on the best landscapes in
the country with a town or two thrown in for good measure.
