We are introducing advertising only in our new, Ireland Travel
Guide.
We believe that our Ireland Guide is read by people who are interested in traveling
to Ireland. Advertising your hotel, resort, restaurant,
attraction or service in our Ireland Guide is a good way to
reach this audience, when
they are, presumably, beginning to plan their vacation in Ireland. We offer
several ad formats to help you convey your selling point. The
pricing of the ads varies by ad format and, in the
future may vary by the geography described in the page on which the ad is
placed. Of course, you will always know the cost before
placing your ad.
Our formats are a little unique. We start with industry
standard graphics and then let you add text to tell our users
about your business or service. Of course, we reserve the right to decline any
advertising that we feel does not fit the
theme of our site or the sensibilities of our audience.
On each page, the ad space we offer, with the exception of banner ads, will be
placed along the right edge of the page (see the text block on the
right). The 160x600 ads (if
sold for a specific page) will be placed closest to the top,
followed by the 160x240 ads, followed by the 125x125 ads. If a
particular category has not been sold for a page, the lower priced
ads will occupy positions closer to the top of the page. Subsequent
ad sales , for example of a 160x600 ad, may move smaller ads further
down the right edge of the page.

If you are interested in finding out about our demographics, we urge
you to query our site at
www.quantcast.com.
Enter our site name (www.thereareplaces.com) in the empty box at the top of the page and they
will provide a time-based estimate of the traffic at our site.
We place Quantcast code on each of our published pages that allows
them to estimate our traffic volumes.
The information presented on their site is based on their
methodology, which is proprietary, What that means is that we
do not know how they derive their analytical data about our visitors
or their demographics, nor can we vouch for its accuracy.
We prefer to make no specific representation about the quality of our traffic due to
the problems of interpreting weblogs. Our website traffic appears to
peak between January and June, declines in the late summer and usually begins
to rise again in the fall. During the spring of 2008 we peaked
at about 330,000 pages served a month to over 100,000 visitors of which
60,000 were unique. Note, these figures are for our
entire website, not just for the Ireland section.
Since our Ireland section is new (July,2008), we do not know how it
will perform, but anticipate that it will be popular. However,
if you choose to advertise with us in our Ireland section, we want
you to know that we do not make any representations about the volume,
quality, or constancy of the traffic associated with our site.
In addition, we make no representations about the availability of
our site. Although our serving host guarantees 100% uptime and
has redundant facilities, we believe that it is impossible to
warrant an uptime representation made by a third-party
supplier and will not
do so. We will, however, make every effort that we can to make
sure that the site is as available as possible.
